This historic church in Holdfast, Saskatchewan, was carefully restored using VIPEQ’s Thermal CorkShield F08, bringing renewed protection to its aging metal roof and steeple.

Years of exposure had caused visible deterioration, putting the structure at risk of corrosion and water infiltration. Maintenance was expensive and needed too often to keep this piece of Saskatchewan’s history alive and well.

The application of Thermal CorkShield, after necessary repairs and waterproofing, provided a breathable, flexible, and weather-resistant coating that reinforces the building without compromising its architectural character and strength. The cork-based formula helps regulate temperature, keeps the roof looking new, and offers long-lasting durability — essential for preserving anything in Saskatchewan’s climate. Small hail is able to bounce instead of dent the metal, the sun’s heat is not absorbed and ice does not stain or chip the texture.

This restoration honors the past while equipping the church for the future, ensuring it remains a standing symbol of community and tradition.
